Gen-Z actress Mckenna Grace is slaying the 1990s layering game, wearing a white tee underneath a pinafore mini dress while promoting her latest supernatural comedy, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, released Friday, March 22. I have to admit, I’m all for it!

I didn’t particularly like her prior attempt at layering because of the color combination and styling, but this time, during the London press tour, I’m smitten with her ’90s look.

While I adore her more mature choice of red gown at the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire New York premiere, I also appreciate her youthful wardrobe selections, which perfectly capture her youthful look.

Mckenna Grace Is Lovely in a Lilac Mini Dress and Mary Jane Pumps

On Thursday, Mckenna attended the UK gala screening of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire at the Ham Yard Hotel. She looked girly in a lilac leather mini-dress layered over a white t-shirt.

I love the color of her outfit. She stood out in the lilac dress, flanked by the film’s director, Gil Kenan, and her co-star Finn Wolfhard, who donned black jackets and jeans.

Although some may find it simple, I like how the styling enhanced the overall appearance and gave the ‘90s look a fresh spin.

As you’ve probably seen on TikTok, ruffled socks are huge these days. They’re no longer exclusive for kids; they’ve evolved into a fashionable accessory that can spruce up any look, regardless of age.

Mckenna is one of many celebrities who have embraced the frilly socks trend. She paired her knee-length dress with semi-sheer white socks with refined ruffles and a grid pattern. I adore how the socks add a whimsical and fun touch to the ensemble, giving it a sweet springtime vibe.

Mckenna then boosted her 5’0” height with black suede Mary Jane pumps designed with thick platforms and chunky block heels, elevating the girly look.

Giving the outfit a dash of glitz, Mckenna Grace accessorized with a tennis choker necklace that sat beautifully on her collarbone. She then fastened a gold earring to one ear for a hint of edge.

Beauty-wise, the young actress wore her tresses in a half-up, half-down style, accented with a large black bow to complete her girly appearance. Her peachy eyeshadow, fluttery eyelashes, and complementary lipstick rounded out her glam.

Mckenna Grace Gets Witchy in Black Pinafore and Stockings

When I saw Mckenna walk the blue carpet at Claridge’s for the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire photocall, I was immediately reminded of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The look exudes a witchy but elegant feel, which I believe stems from the ensemble’s flawless styling and black-and-white combination.

Mckenna wore a white, long-sleeved top with a mock neck underneath a fuzzy black pinafore mini dress with thick shoulder straps and a flattering thigh-skimming hem. It was cut a few inches above her knees to create a leg-lengthening look.

It also came with a tonal buckled belt, giving the dress some shape while accentuating her physique.

Moving on to the lower portion of Mckenna’s ensemble, I love how she paired her black-and-white outfit with sheer black knee-high stockings, adding a sultry touch to her relatively youthful appearance.

She then slipped her feet into Sergio Rossi’s “Twenty” Mary Jane pumps, made of black patent leather with chunky heels that perfectly twist the traditional Mary Jane style.

They also have trendy square toes and are finished with crystal-encrusted buckles on the strap, adding glitter to the monochromatic outfit.

Mckenna looked beautiful with blonde hair worn in natural waves and accessorized with a thick black headband—another popular accessory from the 1990s. It kept her tresses neatly tucked behind her ears, allowing her to showcase her tiny hoops and diamond stud earrings.

A light pink eyeshadow and mascara enhanced her blue eyes, and a swipe of pink lipstick finished her look.
